Our two kids had so much fun playing here yesterday. Some music would be lovely to have up there. Very impressed with staff bringing up drinks and snacks we pre-ordered from the cafe making everything easier for us. Would definitely book again!

Coffee nice and very clean and tidy premises but the play cafe was incredibly small, I went to go around the corner and there was no corner! It is just a few tiny shops, nothing for babies older than 6 months and overall just too small and disappointing. There is also very limited seating for adults. I can imagine most people will visit once but won’t return as it’s too limited for children and leaves you with a “is that it?” Impression.

My daughter enjoyed the full afternoon session. It was nice having smaller numbers so that she didn't feel overwhelmed. I liked how each room felt like a little hide out. For what I paid for a flat white I would have liked a mug but understand with health and safety this may have been the reason behind this drinks option upstairs.

I've always struggled finding things to do in Chippenham. Every time I ask someone for day out ideas, they always recommend places further afield where I'd have to plan out public transport for the day. So I jumped at booking this when I saw it come up on Instagram. It was really nice walking from our house, to town, being able to enjoy a coffee and cake, and my son having something fun and educational to do. He enjoyed the books in the library, he particularly liked the supermarket. He was confident enough to speak to other children. He enjoyed one of the toys so much he polity asked me if we could buy one from the toy shop. 
It was a decent price for parent and child and the time slot was perfect, enough time to enjoy everything but not to feel like you're getting bored. Adding in a look around town afterwards, this made for a lovely morning out and I'd deffo like to come again!

It's okay for very young children but I think any child over the age of 2 would be bored. It's very small. The post office part is odd as there's nothing for the children to post. Service downstairs was extremely slow! Would rather make the trip to the play cafe in Chipping Sodbury which is far better

Brilliant space, perfect for open ended imaginary play. Both my 18 month old and my 4.5yr old had a lovely time and the coffee is great too. My older son asked whether we could go again the next day. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely morning at the Nest. The little ones ran around in a safe space with only one other group in the space. It was small enough to see what they were up to at all times whilst enjoying a catch up and a coffee. Friendly staff and great refreshments available to purchase.

Really sorry but we didn't enjoy our visit. Firstly, it's quite small upstairs and I wouldn't say there is loads of seating, especially when the little ones are using chairs too. There was no music so the atmosphere just felt very strange. Also, when we ordered our drinks, sounds silly but there was no caramel syrup, no large cups to go upstairs and no water in the water station and when we did order a coffee it took 30 minutes to come. We asked for music to be played and the guy put it on the phone but didn't put it through the speaker. The baby space is just a mat and maybe just be aware that children will run through that, as its not barricaded off to protect them. Also, the toilet upstairs smelt very bad. My last point is that I don't think you should be charging for adults as they will buy a coffee downstairs and I think thats a bit unfair. We paid £10 for adults to come and we all bought a drink.

This is such a lovely play cafe, it's the perfect size with lots for the kids to do but still small enough that you can let them run off and play independently. I went with my twins who are almost 2 years old and they loved it!

Our two Grandsons enjoyed our visit to The Nest Cafe. It is nicely set out with several different rooms for role play. There is a Vets, a shop, little kitchen and lovely story room. The play area also has an area for young babies. The area for adults has a comfy sofa and nice tables and chairs for adults to enjoy coffee and a snack whilst children play. There are only eight child places per session so it is not too crowded. The play area has a safety gate at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom to keep children safe. Also a buggy park at the bottom of the stairs for pushchairs. The cakes were very nice and coffee was good.
We really enjoyed our session . I am sure the cafe will be a great success. We look forward to coming back in July when our Grandsons visit again.

Lovely place, reasonable priced and great to come to meet up with other parents! I suggest to have a shoe rack or something similar for grown up's shoes, so that the play space keeps clean for the little ones.

Lovely area for children to play. I came with my 5 month old and friends with 2 years olds. The 2yo loved the area and exploring. My little one enjoying the play mat area. Could just do with a few sensory items for the little ones.

It has a lot of potential but a lack of resources and attention to detail meant there wasn’t a great amount to do and this left children fighting over the few resources and us leaving 45 minutes early. In the ‘library’ for example, there were no board books or simpler books for smaller visitors. My 1 year old loves books but wasn’t going to sit through books designed for older children. In the hair dressers section, there were two stations for role play yet only one mannequin and the one mannequin had hair so matted it couldn’t be used properly. There is a lovely postbox in an area labelled ‘post office’, but absolutely nothing to post. It would be so easy to put a small table, some writing utensils and paper in this area. I think it would be beneficial getting somebody with a background in Early Years to come in and give some pointers because it’s a lovely space and there are some super quick and easy fixes but at the moment it’s incredibly disappointing.

A Hidden Gem – We Love The Nest!

We've just discovered The Nest and absolutely love it! You can tell straight away that a lot of thought has gone into creating such a welcoming and enjoyable space. One of the things we really appreciated was that tickets are limited, which means it never feels overcrowded – a big plus, especially with little ones.

But what really stood out for us was the food and drink setup. You can order hot drinks and food as you arrive, and they bring it up to you – such a brilliant and convenient touch! It made the whole experience feel relaxed and well cared for.

Ok overall. We went first thing in the morning and the toilets had not been cleaned, no loo roll & no hand towel plus hand dryer not working. Considering it is a children’s play cafe you’d think cleaning the toilets were a priority to stop the spread of bugs. The stairs up to the cafe are hard when you’re still having to carry your children plus all of your belongings.

I give 4 stars. The place is great and my 4 year old daughter loved it, she loves role play. There is nothing of the kind in the area and it is great having something like that for the kids. However I find it to be a bit overpriced. I also have a 1 year old, so that was paying for 2 kids and myself, which was around £14, plus then having a hot drink, juice and a biscuit for my daughter, it came to just over £20 for 1 hour and a half. I would definitely use it more often if it wasn't that expensive. Here are some suggestions: 
Maybe you could include a hot drink with the adult ticket, or don't charge a price for the adult. 
You could offer siblings discount. 
A negative review that I must mention is that the bathroom (which is upstairs) didn't have toilet paper which that being the first session of the day, makes me think that the bathroom wasn't checked/cleaned after the last session which would have been the day before.

I’ll be completely honest I wasn’t even asked for details I had even booked the play area. Just showed straight upstairs. They were more focused on If I wanted a coffee. Personally wouldn’t come again. But great little play for half hour.

The place was new, clean and tidy, but I would say the different rooms needs more items in to play with. example the cafe only had a tea set, the salon only had one hair dryer, when there's multiple children trying to play, it means some are left with nothing to do.

Overall the place was very well decorated. The rooms look lovely but in each room there was not enough stuff. It looked very empty and was hard to entertain my child. When there are 8 children but only one shopping trolly or one doctors set it isn’t going to work. Children like lots of equipment. Most 2 year olds want to play with the same thing everyone else has and because there was only one of everything this didn’t go down very well. There needs to be a lot more equipment. It felt very empty & for what was there I felt it was expensive when you have to pay for an adult as well.

Also wasn't assured booking was still on following timing changes to sessions. Not clear on site about dietary restrictions on being able to provide own food.

Lovely idea , there was plenty of toys for the children to play with , lots of fun ideas , it was very clean and the staff were so friendly and very accommodating, the only downfall is it’s up stairs which can be a pain but the staff are happy to bring items up if ordered! Role play areas do not have enough role play toys! Very very poor. Eg in cafe area- no plates, cups, tea pot etc. In kitchen area- no pans, cooking utensils etc. In the shop area- only pretend fruit. In the beauty shop- no hair bands, hair brushes, pretend make up etc. Absolutely nothing in the post office. Random builders hat and police hat but no toys associated with these roles.
Coffee and cake took over half an hour to come upstairs, not busy downstairs. When it arrived the cake came in paper bag, no plates, no serviettes. Some visitors had hot drinks in takeaway cups others had it in china with plates and cutlery.
Not enough seating upstairs, not good when you have to pay as an adult to enter the play facility. Children and adults having to sit on floor to eat and drink. Families having to bring chairs upstairs.
Very disappointing. 

Both of my girls loved and this was  are second time  going the staff are lovely

First time visit. It's small but a really good addition to the highstreet. Plenty to keep a toddler occupied for 90 mins. Wasn't too busy when we went and everything was very clean. I had a really nice chicken and avocado bagel, which they brought up midway through the session.
Would be great if there were a few more food choices aimed at kids for the lunch time session - like a small plain cheese sandwich, hummus and veggie sticks or savoury muffins
You might also consider getting a kids toilet seat for the loo.

I would guess the target age is 3. Our five year old  stuggled to find anything that kept him interested and the 2 year olds that were on our session simply spent the session pushing around the trolly.  I tried hard to play with our little one and make it engaging but it was a challenge, especially as I couldn't fit behind the tills to be able to play with him.  I'd hoped for someone local that would rival the area we goto in Weston, but sadly this misses the mark.

Myself and my family really enjoyed our session yesterday between 11.30 and 13pm. All very clean and tidy, great range of toys for the children to use their imagination. 
My daughter loved the library area, especially looking at the book Bluey. 
My daughter enjoyed exploring the area, she loved showing us everything she played with. 
The laughing and clapping hands assured myself and my partner that she was really enjoying herself. 
We went for iced coffee and cup of tea, the only thing I could suggest is a pack lunch option for children? As we payed for tuna and sweetcorn sandwich which was rather big for our daughter to eat. This may help with getting more customers to buy food?

Play area was nice, smaller than I thought though. 
Steps getting downstairs are a bit scary  with a toddler and newborn. 
I was a bit disappointed about selection of food. It stated not to bring in food of any kind, which is normal for soft plays. However, when we arrived there were no sandwiches available and only cakes. When asked which were dairy free if any, the staff had no idea. In the end I just went without. 
It’s a lovely little play area but I do think there can be a few improvements made to make it even better.

The play area upstairs is lovely and my little one had a nice time playing. The cafe however lets it down! Our session was over lunch and it says you can’t bring your own food so I went to order some food and they had nothing!!!! The man reluctantly said he could make a ham sandwich for my little one! Which when it came was awful and not suitable for a child. There was nothing for the adults either. He said he could make a panini but after we saw him going to the fridge and getting out a Sainsbury’s sandwich filler pot to make it we declined. Such a shame as was looking forward to this but it shouldn’t call itself a play ‘cafe’!

We had a really lovely first visit here. We had to drag the two year old out kicking and screaming. Can see lots of potential here. Lovely they bring drinks up to you, although ours got forgotten it was soon sorted. Interestingly a lady in front of us in the cafe with young children said she didn’t realise there was a play area upstairs, so that could be a focus point to get yourselves known a bit more. The cafe was buzzing and could see all were working hard with what appeared to be some  staff with maybe very  little work experience, but we all need to start somewhere!   These things take time and we really hope it is the success it appears to deserve. We will most definitely revisit.

Came for the role play area with my two boys 1 and 3 years. Nice enough cafe but we didn’t actually spend any time downstairs so couldn’t really comment. No child friendly food options which was disappointing as we wanted to have lunch. Limited overall choice with predominantly cakes. A few sandwiches available as savoury offering.

Good set up with buggy park area downstairs. Role play area felt very small with not much to keep the boys entertained for the hour and a half session. Everything was a bit sad and the area just felt bare despite it being so small. Lots cold the toys didn’t work eg till didn’t turn on. There were 6 kids in total and 7 adults and it was super tricky to move around one another in the space. We left after less than an hour. Wouldn’t recommend for the price as I think there are better play cafes around.

Absolutely lovely! Fantastic coffee, beautiful cakes and the play centre was amazing. Our 1 year old and 8 year old had a great time! There was plenty to play with and was very well laid out. The team were fantastic and very welcoming! We will be returning for sure!!

Afternoon Session

Such a lovely idea - I’m really hoping this can be seen as constructive feedback and not criticism as it’s potentially a great addition to the town. I came along on Thursday and was told I needed to book a day in advance, not a problem for me,  but I feel like there is the potential of missed revenue for your business on that front. On the flip side, I was told it was 18 children capacity, which after attending yesterday would have felt very cramped on reflection. When we arrived, we were only with 2 other children, which was great. However, I felt the space was rather dirty, lots of the toys were jumbled up and in the wrong rooms too - understandable with it being young children, but it felt as if nobody had checked it was clean and sorted before starting the next session? Lots of the toys were dirty too and some were broken, having a toddler meant this didn’t make me feel overly comfortable. There were also lots of crumbs on the floor. The dolls head in the salon kept falling off every time a little boy tried to brush her hair, I had to clip it on again 6 times before he gave up. The salon dolls head too was in quite a bad state! The toilets were dirty with a full bin and a running tap. I feel like the spaces could have had more exciting features added, perhaps some nice lighting or more motifs on the wall (again, appreciate its early days!) Overall, my son had a nice time and I love the concept, just wanted to give some true feedback to try and help in the long run. Thank you!

A nice place to go if you want a sit down, but also to watch your child play safely and close by, easier than a regular coffee shop. Would be a good destination for somewhere you can go and chat with a friend and let kids go wild. 

The place is very small but because there is only a few people allowed in at a time it isn’t a problem. nice for 1-1 time with the kids too without many distractions. Good set out with a play Matt for babies too- you can see the children mostly the whole time which is handy . Price wise for children I feel is fair enough and a good price, only down fall is paying for adults as I am likely to spend this money on coffee / cake instead anyway, this does prevent me going as much as I would like. The cake I tried was great, and the coffee was lovely
Too. The cleaning wasn’t done when we arrived so we were let in a bit later than expected, however the service from staff was great, food was given to us upstairs and very polite, fun staff working on tills.

Thought we’d give this a go, after hearing mixed reviews and usually travelling out of town for a play cafe. The play area was a lot smaller than expected, and I struggle to see how you’d get anymore than 5-6 children and their grown-ups in the space. The idea is fantastic, but I feel that each section of the play area were lacking toys/props to keep the children entertained for longer.

Not a lot to do, small, each set up ‘salon’ ‘shop’ etc had hardly anything in. You had stuff for 3+ but also newborns as you have tummy time mats. Nothing inbetween for 1-2 year olds. Woukd not come again, bubs and brews are a lot better

I brought my 2.5yr old to The Nest for a play session. 
It was absolutely lovely. When I walked in, I was greeted and the cafe was very clean and full of customers. 
As we went up to the role play area, it was well laid out, spacious enough for children to play. 
90 minute session was definitely long enough too! 
It’s also very safe for the children. Gates on the doors and you can only get out of the bottom of the stairs by pushing the button(which is high enough, away from little fingers) 
10/10, would definitely recommend and we will be returning! Thankyou Nest!

Chippenham has been desperate for a place like this, the fact it is in town is great. The staff are all very welcoming and professional. The play room upstairs was great, had different sessions for the kids to play in, plenty of equipment. The pricing was very reasonable, definitely booking again, my kids had a fab time 😁

Took my nearly 4yr old granddaughter, we were the only ones there to start with then another grandmother came with her toddler grandson, I was a bit worried that we wouldn't stay the whole 90 minute session but once granddaughter got going she seemed to enjoy it & we did interactive play & read a book. I think it's more geared up to the under 4s. Nice Disney songs played, friendly staff.

It was our first time going to The Nest and it did not disappoint, my 19 month old daughter loved it and there’s lots of imaginative play to choose from, lovely comfy area with books which she got attracted to first and other bits to explore. It was really good! My 4yo really really enjoy it with plenty accesories in each space (the Caffè  got much more) for all the children who were there. I am so happy there is a nice play option in Chippenham, specially for raining days.

Good to have an option of a play cafe in Chippenham, as there aren’t many around! The play area is on the floor above the cafe and fairly small but did keep our 3 year old entertained with enough variety of  toys and ‘station’ set ups, although parts of the sets seemed to be missing for full role play. Drinks and sweet treats on offer from the cafe downstairs.

Great place to take your little ones and have a nice cafe, a lot sort of accesories, very safe for even babies, very convenient and great service. Excellent value for money

We love it at The Nest. The coffee is great and the staff are really accommodating and professional. There's spacious loos and baby changing on both floors, and things are clean and tidy. It's a really nice vibe in there and I left feeling recharged.

The play area is great for the kids, a good amount of toys & props without being cluttered. We'll definitely be going back again! That said, I've got a few suggestions for improvements: having to order before you go up works if you've got a young child strapped into a buggy, but with a toddler or preschooler who's desperate to get to the toys it would make way more sense to get straight upstairs & order food & drinks once you're settled in. Having to pop down to order isn't great, especially if you're the only adult in your party. I'm sure a fun solution could be devised here, maybe a phone / intercom mounted high up where kids can't reach but adults could buzz down to order things. The food selection was a little light, but I'm guessing the last session on a Saturday was probably to blame for that.
